Who We Are!

In September of 1908, eight Norwegian families from North Portland wanted to start a church. They purchased a plot of land on Lovely St. and Fortune St. The original name of the church was Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Congregation.

The church was moved to the location where it sits today in the 1950’s. The additional educational classrooms, offices, and an apartment were added in 1957.

Today, we are a small but growing congregation, who welcome all who are seeking a Christian faith community who are interested in doing justice, practicing loving kindness, are searching for ways to both love God in Christ and loving our neighbors! We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) network of Reconciling Works Congregations, welcoming members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

We also share our space with Cathedral Park Preschool, Imagination Station Daycare Center, and Troop 120 Boy Scouts! We also grow produce during the spring and summer months for the community, and have a Blessing Box for those in need of food posted on the church property for either those in need, or those who wish to provide for others.
