The American Red Cross is experiencing a national blood shortage. Back-to-school season, summer travel and an already active hurricane season have hindered blood donations, resulting in a shortfall of about 30,000 blood donations in August alone. Right now, blood product distributions to hospitals are outpacing the number of blood donations coming in. The Red Cross is working with hospitals around the clock to meet the blood needs of patients – but can’t do it alone. We need your help!

Our Garden of Eatin’ is planted

This is our 5th year of planting a garden of vegetables, herbs and cutting flowers to share with our community. We not only share the food that is grown and harvested but we share the opportunity for those who love to garden but don’t have the space, the skill or the ability to do it alone. Many of our neighbors join us in tending to the garden. This year we created an arch. Sweet smelling jasmine and honeysuckle will grow on the arch. A bench in our garden gives anyone passing by, a place to rest and reflect.
